YouTube

YouTube is a video sharing website which allows users to locate existing videos as well as upload their own. There is an amazing amount of instructional material including an Education section. http://www.youtube.com/education?b=400

You cannot legally download YouTube videos as it breaches policy however you can show them anywhere, link to them and embed them into Learning Management Systems, so that the learner does not have to leave the secure environment to view the video. This does not breach any copyright and many educators and trainers use this method to provide engaging materials to balance text-based content.

 

Teacher Tube


It is a site to provide anytime, anywhere professional development with teachers teaching teachers. As well, it is a site where teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill. TeacherTube community members are a major part of the evolution of the site. Members are encouraged to not only upload educationally relevant videos, but also to make constructive comments and use the rating system to show appreciation for videos of value to one as an educator or learner.

National Learning Repository

The National Repository is a gateway to online training content. It allows teachers and trainers to access more than 2,500 quality, copyright cleared e-learning objects. These learning objects come from various sources including the Toolboxes, and the majority are free and can be downloaded directly to your computer, and uploaded into your online course. They can also be customized to suit and Tutorials are available. (Australia Education Dept.)

      Our library of videos covers K-12 math, science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and even reaches into the humanities with playlists on finance and history. Each video is a digestible chunk, approximately 10 minutes long, and especially purposed for viewing on the computer.
